I am currently a student at Confetti University studying Content Creation at Masters Degree level. I live in London working as a PR and Social media Intern at LKBennett and also freelance. I have a book reviewing Instagram and TikTok page called @Jreadsx.

Before discovering my love for content creation I was on a completely different path, having studied Musical Theatre at college and degree level. After completing my studies I moved to London in hopes of pursuing my dreams of performing on the West End. However, after a few months and many auditions I was starting to feel the reality of the life of a musical theatre performer. I carried on auditioning and working on my craft, and although it lead me to more success in the audition room, I was not managing to book any jobs.

I started reading in my spare time which bought me peace and enjoyment and I began recommending books to my friends and family. This lead to creating an Instagram account to share my reviews with a small community, and I started to really fall in love with content creation. I had dabbled previously when I had my own printing business during Covid lock down, but Instagram was where I really found my creative spark.

After two years of being a postgrad, attending audition after audition and slowly growing my book review account I had an epiphany while sitting on a beach in Malaga during a family holiday. I was watching friends either be successful in their chosen career path, changing their career to something else they loved or starting families and I felt completely lost and it was at that moment I knew I had to make a change.

I had some hard conversations with myself, my family and friends and I realised that I was enjoying producing content for my Instagram page (that had now grown to also include TikTok and YouTube) much more than I was enjoying auditioning for musical theatre shows. I still love musical theatre and I always will, but that didn’t mean it had to become my career. I decided to research how I could improve my skills in content creation, whilst doing this I also realised I had quite a few passion projects I wanted to complete for which I would need to produce professional looking content. I found an incredible Masters Degree course and I was lucky enough to be accepted. I am now studying Content Creation, honing my skills and I am excited to see what the future holds.
